Upholstered Rocking Chair Seat

I know, I know… I haven’t been crafting as much lately, or even browsing craft websites. But I’m back!

Several months ago, my mom got me a beautiful old rocking chair from a lady she works with. There was just one thing missing… it didn’t have a seat!

So today I spent the afternoon upholstering a seat for it, and it turned out very beautiful if I do say so myself. 🙂 Don’t believe for a second that it went right together the first time… I had ripped out staples all over my living room floor! One important thing I learned- it’s best to staple one edge straight before you start worrying about stretching the material and stapling the other edges.

Here it is!

Close up of the seat:

and a close up of the birds on the back, which I just love:

What a perfect place to rock a newborn baby! 🙂

  1. Looks great! I got a staple gun for Christmas, but I haven’t used it for any projects yet.
